The Audi A6 will spearhead the introduction of easy clean alloy wheels.
Developed by wheel manufacturer Alcoa, the new alloy wheel design promises to eliminate dirt-engrained wheels.
Alcoa says that its Dura-Bright technology allows the removal of dirt and brake dust with only water.
Alcoa also promises that the polished finish will not chip, fade or ‘yellow’ like traditional alloy wheel finishes.
“By being easy to clean and staying clean longer, Dura-Bright technology wheels enhance a vehicle’s appearance, allowing Audi A6 owners to enjoy their vehicle while lowering maintenance efforts,” said Mike Parnell, vice president and general manager, Alcoa Auto Wheels.
Parnell added that new wheels are stronger and lighter by 20%. This will help reduce the vehicle’s weight, improved CO2 emissions and increase fuel efficiency.
The new technology wheels are available on the Audi A6 now as a £1350 option. Look for the ‘5-arm Dynamic’ design in the A6 option list.
