WITH Hyundai’s focus on the SME company car market, we caught up with UK President & CEO, Tony Whitehorn, at the international preview, to ask him what he thought the opportunity was for the new SUV in such a crowded market.

“It’s such a step change for us, which is why we’ve re-named it the Tucson.

“We’ve historically been strong in this sector, with 65% of iX35 sales going to the corporate sector.

“We expect similar figures for corporate sales for the Tucson.

“With the Tucson, if you’re a small or medium business, the new car makes an excellent senior manager’s car.

“With the 1.6 turbo’s low CO2 figure, we’re focusing on the BIK, although the 1.7-litre diesel will be the most popular choice with its mix of power and reduced CO2.

“The Tucson is a significant model for the corporate customer and the Tucson 1.7 diesel will be a strong contender. “
