VOLKSWAGEN Financial Services is launching a first to market telematics analysis tool to help fleet managers see into the future.
The Future Fleet Analysis tool takes data from a company’s Telematics system and analyses the driving data of each individual vehicle.
For customers using the VWFS | Fleet Telematics system (powered by the RAC) this journey data can simply be uploaded to the tool, alternatively a template document is available for different telematics systems.
The tool will then advise which vehicles could be suitable for a switch to electric or plug-in hybrid technology, as well as which are best suited to petrol or diesel fuel and what potential fuel savings could be made by making such changes.
This allows fleet decision makers to quickly identify and start to make fuel choice decisions across a number of vehicles in seconds.
Tom Brewer, Head of Sales and Marketing at VWFS | Fleet, said: “More and more companies are investigating the possibility of adding ultra-low emission vehicles to their fleets, but it’s often complicated and time-consuming to determine which vehicles are appropriate, and how to do so.
“We wanted to create this tool, for customers and the wider fleet industry, so managers can showcase how many drivers are good candidates for EV to key stakeholders across their organisations.
“As a multi-marque leasing company, we’re well placed to tailor the solutions we offer our customers to deliver the best fit. This tool is the first part of the offering which we’re developing to help the industry take advantage of the opportunity EV presents.”
