IF you’re an SME, or run your own small business, this is usually where Porsche business motoring starts: the Macan.

So you’ll be interested to know that Porsche’s hugely popular compact SUV Macan is getting a little makeover.

First launched in 2014, the new version features updated lights front and rear, new interior options and improved connectivity.

Porsche unveiled its latest Macan in Shanghai. It says the model shown is specifically for the Chinese market. But the overall changes are likely to be incorporated on UK models when we get more news of this.

So what can you expect from the updated Porsche Macan?

There are LED headlights and a new rear light strip as standard. The frontal appearance has been changed to widen the stance of the updated Macan.

Interior of the updated Macan now features 11 inch colour screen

There’s now an 11-inch touchscreen display (up from 7 inches) with full connectivity through the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) centre. As in the Panamera and Cayenne, the user interface on the infotainment system can be customised using predefined tiles.

Other changes include options such as GT sports steering wheel, and Traffic Jam Assist. The latter includes improved cruise control behaviour with partially automated acceleration and braking – it also assists with steering in a traffic jam or in slow-moving traffic.

A new range of exterior colours includes Miami Blue on the car pictured, along with Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Crayon. These can be combined with new interior packages to provide a wider range of opportunities for personalisation.

And as for pricing on the updated Macan?

Well, for now we have no indication from Porsche. The current Macan ranges starts at £46,485 for the petrol 3.0 litre model with a company car tax banding of 34%.

The diesel Macan range starts from £49,174 for the S model with a company car tax banding of 37%.

The top of the range Macan 3.6 Turbo Performance PDK costs £70,800.
