Order books are now open for the petrol-engined version of the Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion – the low emission versions suitable as business cars for company car drivers.

The first cars will arrive in the UK in March. Prices start at £14,730, which is over £1,000 less than the entry price for the 1.4-litre diesel BlueMotion, although the diesel is more economical, with a combined fuel consumption of 91.1 mpg compared with the petrol car’s 68.9 mpg.
CO2 emissions for the diesel are 82g/km (14% company car tax band), whereas the petrol manages 94g/km (11% company car tax band).
BlueMotion models are based on the Polo’s S trim but get a styling pack that includes features such as side skirts and rear roof spoiler, as well as fifteen-inch alloys with low rolling resistance tyres, a multifunction leather steering wheel, an alarm with remote central locking, air con and cruise control.
All current Polos come with a colour touchscreen, SD card reader, DAB radio and USB and AUX-in connections, as well as a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
