Business Car Manager road test verdict
Despite the arrival of the new diesel engine and other improvements, the MG6 Diesel is likely to remain a minority choice in the company car market, appealing mainly to user-choosers at SMEs with small fleets and a wider choice of company car.
But for business car buyers who fancy something a bit different, the MG6 diesel is certainly worth a look.
Keen drivers, in particular, will be pleasantly surprised by the MG’s excellent chassis dynamics and strong performance, which match just about anything in a company car comparison, although they should also be prepared to spend a lot of time explaining their choice to others. The rebirth of MG is a fascinating story but awareness levels seem to be quite low.
And the MG6 is only the start of that story; two smaller models, the MG3 and MG5, are already in the pipeline and SAIC has plenty of muscle.
Your next company car probably won’t be an MG; but the one after that just might be.
