Low company car tax Honda Civic launched

HM Revenue & Customs has given Honda the sign-off on a new Civic model that promises to reduce company car tax rates for business car drivers thanks to a lower P11d price.

The new Honda Civic business special grade is Ci. It’s based on the current Civic Si model.

Specification includes anti-skid VSA, central locking, alloy wheels and climate control from the Si model, but adds Bluetooth hands-free functionality too. Uprated Ci-T models also receive DVD sat-nav.

Honda says that a company car driver paying tax at 40% would pay L1,128 a year in tax contributions for the Civic 1.8 Ci, saving L261 a year (19%) over the current Civic Si (L1,389 a year).

“User choosers are now actively seeking out more tax-efficient cars,” commented Graham Avent, Honda’s manager of corporate operations.

“There is a real demand for business cars in the compact hatch sector that offer tax savings for drivers,” Mr Avent continued. “The Civic Ci is our answer to that.”
