Risers and fallers

Models that dropped out of the Fleet Alliance top ten included the Ford Mondeo which fell from fifth place in 2012 to 33rd this year; the BMW 5 Series which fell from seventh place to 11th; and the Skoda Octavia down from ninth place last year to 18th this year.

Martin Brown of Fleet Alliance
Fleet Alliance MD, Martin Brown

Fleet Alliance, managing director, Martin Brown said: “The faster risers on our fleet this year have undoubtedly come from Kia, who are now producing low carbon-emitting, exciting models for today’s fleet market that are clearly attracting the attention of our customers.

“And we are also seeing a rising interest and a growing number of requests from fleet customers for some of the latest models from another Korean manufacturer, Hyundai, which shows the growing acceptability of these brands in the fleet market.

“Meanwhile, Audi and Volkswagen models remain desirable for user-choosers with their low carbon emissions and smaller tax charges. So it is little surprise that our number one car is the Audi A3, an aspirational model that continues the downsizing trend to smaller models that we are seeing increasingly in the fleet market.

“The success of Vauxhall, on the other hand, reflects the growth we have seen in the mid-size corporate market in the last 12 months. Vauxhall models are ideal when it comes to setting a fixed fleet policy with well priced, well specified models for medium to large sized fleets,” he added.
