FIAT has added another member to the 500 family – the Fiat 500X crossover.
Separate “urban” and “rugged” versions of the new car will be available according to customer taste.
A wide choice of drivetrains will be offered on the Fiat 500X according to market: standard front-wheel drive, a more capable “Traction Plus”-equipped front-wheel drive system, and full all-wheel drive.
Gearboxes are five and six-speed manuals, plus six-speed twin-clutch and nine-speed full automatic transmissions.
Four petrol engines are available on the Fiat 500X – front-wheel drive cars get a 110PS 1.6-litre “E-torQ” engine with a five-speed manual gearbox or a 140PS 1.4-litre Turbo MultiAir II petrol engine with a choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed twin-clutch transmission.
All-wheel drive petrol models get a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard and are powered either by a 170PS 1.4-litre Turbo MultiAir II engine or a 184PS 2.4-litre.
