THE astonishing rate at which Audi continues to expand its model line up continues.
In 2018 Audi will expand its model line range from 53 models to 55.
The first of these new model lines will be the Audi Q8. It is the biggest SUV the company has produced with a larger footprint than the Q7 but with a lower, coupe-like roofline.
Expect the Q8 to arrive in the UK around May time; it will feature a high level of electrification, including a plug-in hybrid version.
But then Audi goes fully electric with the all-new e-tron quattro. This is a fully Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) with four-wheel drive and a range of 300 miles.
This will be the 55th model in the Audi range and one that will set the benchmark for the brand’s future electrification strategy.
The new Audi e-tron quattro will be on sale in Q4 2018.
Audi says it is working on the charging infrastructure with a specific team at Audi HQ responsible for making ownership of the e-tron quattro a seamless experience.
Before the Q8 and e-tron, though, Audi will launch its flagship executive car, the A6.
The new Audi A6 debut will be at the Geneva Show in March 2018.
It is the commencement of a massive product roll out of 21 model launches in 24 months. So business users and company car drivers should not lack for choice in the business car market.
- Did you know? A third of all Audis sold in the UK are with the quattro drivetrain – and not all are SUVs.
