British Summer Time ends this weekend
I know I should be working. But the autumn afternoon is so lovely, I thought a quick break was in order.
A quick stroll down to the river, then, to look at the Thames gliding by. And take a look at the trees with their leaves turning that lovely rusty brown.
There are plenty of downsides to running your own business: late payment; cash flow; maintaining sales. But plenty of upsides too. Like walking out now for a quick stroll.
It’s important to make the most of this sun now. The clocks go back this weekend. I hate it. It’s an outmoded notion that needs to be re-assessed.
The benefits of not doing it are so manifest – safer on the roads for kids; fewer accidents for business drivers; potential for more exercise in the evening – that I’m amazed the government blithely ignores them.
According to RoSPA, 450 lives would be saved if this anachronistic time shift was axed.
Is anyone in government listening?
