I spoke to Paul Hollick today.
Paul is the general manager sales development for Alphabet. The leasing company, owned by BMW, is suitably proud of its new offer.
For every new contract hire deal signed, Alphabet is offering a free driver licence check. And a free 15-minute online driver assessment courtesy of Peak Performance. This will bracket a drivers attitude to risk: low, medium or high.
It is market leading.
“We believe it puts our cars into safer hands and mitigates any end of lease recharges,” Paul told me. “It should also give car managers the tools to manage risk better particularly with the Corporate Manslaughter Bill.”
However, there is a downside to this largesse.
Alphabet, which is rated highly in customer satisfaction surveys such as apd’s influential Landmark
assessment, only deals with car managers that have at least 25 vehicles.
Effectively, it means many small businesses are missing out on an opportunity to help them manage business car risk better.
Which is a shame all round.
