I think I’ve recovered sufficiently from my first triathlon to actually write about it.
This was my first every triathlon: the Mazda Blenheim Triathlon. A swim in the lake; a cycle around the estate; followed by a run around the estate.
I was part of Team Mazda, a group of journos assembled by pr director Graeme Fudge, to be put through this torture.
Surviving the challenge of a triathlon
Blenheim is a fabulous setting; the day was gloriously hot; and I managed a time under 1hr 45mins (my target had been to get below 2hrs).
Best of all thanks to the generosity of many, I raised over £1000 for charity (but I’m still waiting a couple of cheques, ahem!): Cancer Research and BEN.
I’m not doing the Mazda London Triathlon this year, but intend to enter it in 2009. Better start training, then!
