Verdict
The Volvo XC60 D5 AWD SE Lux Nav really is a highly satisfying car on so many levels. Reassuring to drive, pleasing to sit behind the wheel, tuneful of engine and protected by Volvo’s brilliant safety systems. It has everything to make a business owner or SME director wanting an upmarket company car feel very special.
Its downside is the level of CO2 emissions if you want to run the Volvo XC60 through the company.
If that’s your chosen route then we suggest you try the XC60 with the new D4 engine. With CO2 emissions of 124g/km a 40% tax payer would expect to pay £226 a month in company car tax benefit in kind.
A saving worth having – even if you do miss out on the full driving experience of the D5 XC60. Including its four-wheel drive security. But if you want the full cream experience, then the D5 is where you want to head.
