According to Alain Visser, Volvo’s Car Group marketing head, Volvo sold almost 8000 of its plug-in hybrid models last year. “Adding the R-Design dynamic attributes to the V60 Plug-in Hybrid will further broaden its appeal – the customer gets segment-topping performance combined with outstanding efficiency,” he says.
The V60 Plug-in Hybrid is pretty expensive, and the new R-Design model comes in at £51,675 (excluding the government’s £5000 Plug-In Car Grant). The first cars are expected to turn up in the UK in August 2014.
