The plug-in hybrid gives you an amazing advantage in terms of company car tax

VOLVO is introducing a sportier version of its V60 plug-in hybrid estate in order to widen its appeal.

The new R-Design version gets a redesigned front bumper and grille, rear diffuser and 18-inch Ixion wheels.

The R-Design treatment continues inside, with sports seats featuring a blend of black nubuck textile and perforated leather as standard. Other R-Design touches includes sports pedals and floor mats, and a charcoal headlining.

The rest of the car is pretty much unchanged. Thanks to its 215hp five-cylinder diesel engine and 71hp electric motor, the V60 Plug-in Hybrid already has enough shove to live up to the sporty R-Design looks, while still being able to turn in carbon dioxide emissions of just 48g/km and fuel consumption of 155.2 mpg in official tests.

The driver can select from pure, hybrid or power driving, and on a full charge the car will do up to 31 miles on electric power alone.
