VOLVO is serious about creating greater awareness of its brand with small business company car users with a new Total Cost of Ownership message.

To implement this, Volvo has appointed Peter Johnson, a 20-year veteran at Volvo Cars, to the post of Total Cost of Ownership manager.

Peter has vast experience at Volvo Cars, including vice president of sales at Volvo Cars in Canada.

We need to create a real Total Cost of Ownership focus for our small business customers

“The whole purpose of Peter’s appointment is to create a real Total Cost of Ownership focus in the market for our small business and SME customers,” said Selwyn Cooper, national corporate operations manager at Volvo Cars.

Peter is a senior manager within the worldwide Volvo Cars operation, so his actions will get the attention of Volvo HQ in Sweden and start influencing product in the design stages,” Selwyn added.“Peter will be working with us and financial intermediaries, as well as industry influencers, to focus on the Volvo proposition and how that translates into monthly costs.

Selwyn said that recently Volvo had launched a company car comparison tool on its website.

This allowed business users to make comparisons between different company cars on their wish list.

“The tool allows comparisons across 16 different decision-making factors,” added Selwyn.

“We have to make it as easy as possible for the business user to access company car information, including the ability to compare cars from rival companies.”
