AUDI UK has made Tom Brennan new head of Audi fleet sales, moving up from national contract hire and leasing manager succeeding James Douglas who has been appointed head of sales for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

Before taking up his most recent position within Audi fleet sales, Tom, 45, held a variety of key roles in the finance and leasing sector, and during ten years with Volkswagen Financial Services became its key interface with Audi UK as general manager Audi Finance.

The position gave him a broad base of knowledge of the sales channels and the monetary and contractual framework behind them and facilitated his transition into the Audi fleet sales team in 2013.

Audi says that during his tenure he has fostered strong relationships with fleet managers and key influencers and fully developed his knowledge and understanding of the mechanics of this vitally important sector of the industry.

The 13 annual sales records posted by Audi UK since 2000 have been bolstered particularly robustly in recent years by the Audi Fleet Sales contribution, and James Douglas leaves the brand in the number one position in the premium sector for true fleet sales.

Recognising the effort and talent involved in achieving this milestone, Tom commented: “We don’t find ourselves in this fortunate position by accident. It’s the result of incredibly hard work by everyone in the fleet sales team, but also of outstanding leadership by James for which we are all very grateful.

“I’m greatly looking forward to picking up the baton he carried so expertly and pushing us to even greater success in the years to come.”

Tom will report in to head of Audi sales operations Peter Brookes, who acknowledged the contribution he has already made to the brand’s fleet success, saying: “He has been an integral member of the sales operations team, playing a key role in supporting the brand’s dominance in true fleet. He will be a fantastic addition to the leadership team.”
