Think small if you want breakdown cover

When it comes to breaking down don’t think yellow or blue – think green.

The small, green ETA organisation – the Environmental Transport Association – beat both the AA and RAC to win Breakdown Company of the Year 2009.

The Breakdown/Recovery Company of the Year 2009 was awarded to the ETA by Greenfleet Magazine, a publication dedicated to promoting the use of cleaner fleet vehicles.

The ETA was established 20 years ago as a green alternative to other motoring organisations. It now features a carbon-neutral network of over 7,000 recovery trucks that attends to broken down cars and vans around Britain.

“Green companies need not be more expensive, but we still have to work twice as hard to convince prospective customers that we offer a better service than our better-known rivals,” commented ETA founder and director Andrew Davis.

According to the ETA, it offers a nationwide service with an average response time of 40 minutes, fixing 80% of faults at the roadside.

The ETA also provides a breakdown recovery service for bikes!
