An attractive buy back scheme could see more Tesla Model S versions on small fleets

SMALL UK business fleet operators could now be sexing-up their car pools with Tesla supercars thanks to the American manufacturer’s guaranteed buyback scheme for its Model S.

The Tesla Model S is capable of 312 miles on a single charge with a potential 0-to-62mph in just 4.2 seconds on the way to a top speed of 130mph.

Yet, the buyback scheme, which will be essentially a personal contract purchase (PCP), makes commercial sense for many SME business owners and sole traders who want to fund vehicles outside of their businesses.

By doing this they will be able to make use of approved mileage allowance payments (AMAP) to repay business mileage. This is hugely attractive on electric vehicles because costs of ownership are so low.
