STUART Houlston has taken on the new role of LeasePlan commercial and IT director with the departure of commercial director Jo Elms after a decade with the company.

Stuart, previously technology & transformation director, is a former MD of Lombard Vehicle Management.

Jo, who is assisting with the changeover, has had a huge influence on the Network franchisee programme, stepping up to become Network brand director in 2008 – a position which she held until 2014 when she was promoted to commercial director of LeasePlan.

Network’s most recent brand director Chris Tubbs left to subsequently join Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions and was replaced by Tom Brewer.

Stuart’s appointment comes from within the business, after joining LeasePlan UK on 1 January, 2016, as technology & transformation director. He has brought a wealth of experience with him and a focus on building strong customer led innovation.

This includes working with the local leadership team to ensure LeasePlan UK’s customers are at the heart of its strategic transformation. With this in mind, Stuart will retain responsibility for technology & transformation as part of his new role.

Stuart has held a number of senior roles in the automotive leasing and asset finance sector over the past 20 years, including managing director of Lombard Vehicle Management and Global Chief Operating Officer of White Clarke Group.

Matt Dyer, managing director LeasePlan UK, said: “On behalf of everyone at LeasePlan I would like to thank Jo for her massive contribution to the company and congratulate Stuart on his new role – we wish them all the very best for the future.”

Stuart Houlston said: “I am delighted to be taking on the responsibility of Commercial and IT Director for LeasePlan UK.

“I look forward to using my experience of delivering complex business change and technology initiatives in order to meet the firm’s broader business goals, positioning LeasePlan as the UK’s market leader for customer focus and innovation.

“With exciting times ahead, and the best sales team in the industry, I am very enthusiastic about the opportunities this new role presents.”
