Aston’s GT show stopper

  • Concept promises sports with front room comfort and ‘jewellery’;
  • Entered in renowned design award for concept cars and prototypes;
  • DBX Concept signals new design direction;
  • Brand’s previous winners at Villa d’Este include One-77 and V12 Zagato.

TRY as you might you won’t find any go-faster stripes on the new GT concept Aston Martin DBX Concept unveiled at 2015 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.

Entered in the event’s glamorous concept cars and prototypes class, the DBX Concept claims to challenge conventional thinking about high-end luxury travel.

Its role, even without the boy-racer graphics a GT badge can often bring, is to widen the appeal of the British brand to cater for a more diverse global audience.

Capable of accommodating four adults, the concept claims to consider day-to-day practicality. It boasts generous luggage capacity, while the exterior metal work emphasises the brand’s approach of using authentic materials and is made of machined billet aluminium with visible milling lines intended to be seen as the car’s ‘jewellery’.
