Volvo S60 D3 SE Premium Geartronic auto

What is it?

SMOOTH new coupe styling for Volvo’s Audi A4 competitor, the Volvo S60. The two important engines for the company car market – the 163PS 2.0-litre D3 and the 205PS 2.4-litre D5 – can both be ordered with a six-speed Geartronic automatic transmission (£1450). The car tested here is the 2.0 model with 154g/km emissions, just below the critical 160g/km tax break.

What’s hot?

  • Attractive coupe styling
  • Auto has three settings: auto; sport; and manual shift
  • Auto works well with low-down pull of D3 engine
  • Makes for a relaxed drive
  • As it’s a Volvo, it’s stuffed full of good safety kit
