SMH Fleet Solutions has announced a £16 million investment in to a new 40,000 sq. ft. facility with building work currently underway at a green field site at Thurleigh in Bedfordshire
Two hundred jobs will be created and the facility itself will provide vehicle inspections, repairs, logistics and refurbishment along with secure storage space for 4,500 vehicles, when it becomes fully operational by October 2017.
SMH Fleet Solutions has been providing services to the automotive fleet and leasing industry for over 25 years and has five locations across the UK. This is their largest ever UK investment in vehicle fleet management, logistics and support services.
Commenting on the investment, Martin McAuley, managing director at SMH Fleet Solutions said, “Our investment is a reflection of the confidence and commitment that we have in the fleet business in the UK. We believe that our existing and future customers, deserve the best possible, class leading service, utilising the most advanced technology available.”
The building work is being undertaken by G.F. Tomlinson Construction on the 29-acre Thurleigh Airfield site situated just north of Bedford and close to main road links.
