So what’s new from Hyundai?
STAR of the German launch must be the super-sleek Hyundai i20 coupe, which provides a stylish twist to the latest generation car first seen at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Leading a raft of design changes is a completely reshaped rear end that caters for a cavernous 336-litre boot space with rear seats in position. At the front, a larger grille lends a more aggressive face than the five-door supermini model.
There’s large 17-inch alloy wheels and a unique Tangerine Orange trimmed interior to complete the striking looks. In the UK spring 2015.
WHILE expanding its model range with two new cars launched this week, Hyundai has pledged to target SME fleet operators.
Face-lifted versions of the i40 and i30, also unveiled at Hyundai’s Offenbach headquarters, will lead the assault on a market sector the Korean manufacturer openly admits it has ignored until now.
Yet it is on the ultra sleek looking i20 Coupe and the sporty i30 Turbo that Hyundai pins its hopes to tap into the emotional sales achievable among user-chooser company car drivers.
Speaking exclusively to Business Car Manager, Adrian Porter, recently appointed fleet director for Hyundai Motor Europe, said the manufacturer, which produces more than 90% of its European vehicles in Europe, is now ready to take on the big players in the fleet market.
He said: “As a company we have matured. The focus has been on the private sector since first coming into the market. My position was created this year in order to raise the awareness of the importance of fleet sales.”
Hyundai’s head of brand experience, Andreas Brozat, highlighted the importance of fleet customers pointing out that 52% of European car sales come from the fleet market.
