You can also make really substantial savings by driving with a lighter foot and not over-revving an engine.
In a recent project, TomTom systems helped a national cleaning company to sweep up £10,000 a month in fuel savings using its OptiDrive and Active Driver Feedback systems as average consumption fell from 26 to 43mpg among its company car and business van users.
The technology was launched a year ago at the CV Show and at this year’s event in the NEC next month, TomTom Business Solutions will be unveiling a few more success stories.
Since they were unveiled 12 months ago, the two innovations have helped a number of businesses to reduce costs, improve productivity and produce greener, safer drivers.
Following TomTom’s recent ventures into telematics-based insurance, experts will also be on hand to discuss the applications and possible savings for business, as well as the potential for future tie-ups with the insurance industry.
TomTom provides the technology behind recently-launched insurance products in both the consumer and business markets, having struck deals with Motaquote and Equity Red Star.
Finally, details will be available for TomTom’s newly-forged partnership with the Freight Transport Association, as part of the organisation’s Van Excellence programme.
The market-leading supplier of fleet management systems will promote best practice in van fleets across the UK and Ireland, helping managers understand how technology can underpin efforts to achieve Van Excellence Status.
TomTom will be at stand 3C10 at the CV Show.
