AUDI is launching the Audi TTS performance model.
The Audi TTS will be available in both Coupe and Roadster bodystyles.
The Audi TTS will be powered by a specially modified version of Audi’s 2.0-litre Turbo FSI engine.
Power is boosted from the engine’s normal 200PS to 272PS. Meanwhile engine torque is raised from 280Nm to 350Nm.
That means a 0-62mph of 5.4 seconds for the Coupe.
Despite the high-performance engine, economy is 29.7mpg.
Suspension has been lowered by 10mm to ensure handling to match the power. Damping – which ensures smoother suspension movements and reduced body roll – is by Audi’s hi-tech adaptive magnetic damping system. Bigger brakes provide better stopping ability.
Styling has been modified to reflect the enhanced performance of the Audi TTS. There are LED strip daytime running lights; deeper side skirts; exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels (with optional 19-inch alternatives); and a revised rear bumper with four exhaust tailpipes.
The Audi TTS goes on sale mid-2008.
