Make sure there is enough oil in your car before any trackday, as the engine will be working harder

Oil

Make sure you check that your oil is at the right level before your track day.

Your car’s engine will be working much harder out on the track and will inevitably burn more oil, so bring along a bottle of spare oil just in case the levels drop during the day.

Inside the car

It’s a good idea to give your car a thorough clear out before your track day, which means ridding it of any loose items.

That one biro pen hidden under the passenger seat may seem harmless, but not when the nib fires into your eye as you take on a hairpin.

For maximum performance, you may want to also take the jack and spare tyre out of your car.

Tool kit

It’s a really good idea to bring a small tool kit along with you on your track day, ensuring that it’s packed with either gaffer or electric tape so you can tape up your lights before hitting the track.

Fuel

Last but by no means least, don’t forget to make that all-important visit to the garage on the way. You don’t want to get halfway round the track only to realise you’re running on empty!
