Peugeot plans to cut its company car range from 26 to just 13.

Are you a fan of niche Peugeot models such as  the 207CC?

Well, we at Business Car Manager are the bearer of bad news, as when models such as this 207 finish production in a couple of months – they won’t be replaced!

The death of this Coupe Cabriolet, is part of a radical brand strategy to ‘Move Upmarket’, going into what Peugeot calls “profitable channels of distribution”, cutting the number of lion-badged company car models from the current 26 to just 13.

Peugeot reduces its company car range by 50 per cent.

Once the model cull is complete, Peugeot will have four small cars, five medium-sized models and four in what it calls the C-SUV/D categories.

The range will still extend from the 108 to the 508, but there will be fewer niche models in-between and every car will be suitable for every market in which Peugeot operates.

CEO Maxime Picat says the exact composition of the 13 models Peugeot will concentrate on in future will be decided as replacements are introduced, depending on market requirements at the time.

” Ninety-four per cent of the models I sell are already represented by the cars we will focus on, and we will gain some sales by moving into new markets,” Picat says.

Peugeot is currently undergoing something of a revival, led by Europe and Japan, although Russia and Latin America remain problem areas.
