What is it?

Nissan has revised its Navara pick-up models. They are bigger and bolder than the Nissan Navara models they replace. Interior space is up and the load area bigger than most sector rivals. The revised Nissan Navara features new grades: Trek, Sport, Outlaw and Die Hard. Plus a luxury top of the range Aventura model unique to the Navara Double-Cab.

What’s hot?

  • Practical load area size and design
  • Excellent interior space for five passengers
  • High level of equipment
  • Excellent performance off-road with easy select high/low ratios
  • For towing Navara has a 2600kg braked limit
  • Big, bold and brash image

What’s not?

  • On-road driveability doesn’t match a conventional 4×4
  • Option prices push up overall price
  • £300 road tax rising to £400 in April 08

Business Car Manager Road Test Rating

Due to the company car tax savings over a conventional 4×4, double cabs remain a useful way of paying less personal company car tax. Being a commercial vehicle, if bought and run by a business, they are also exempt from VAT. So it has plenty of appeal for business users. There’s lots of kit – DVD satnav, hands-free phone operation and leather upholstery – a willing engine, a bold image and low taxation levels.
