Volkswagen has announced pricing and UK specifications for the all-new Passat

VOLKSWAGEN has announced the prices for its all-new Passat range. The entry-level 1.6-litre manual diesel S saloon costs £22,215, while a fully-loaded estate will set you back £37,035.

One of the most notable changes for the all-new Passat is a weight saving of about 85 kg, which, combined with a revised, EU6-compliant engine range produces fuel savings and CO2 emissions reductions of up to 14 per cent.

Volkswagen is going for an all-diesel initial launch line-up for the all-new Passat – a 1.6-litre producing 120 PS, two 2.0-litre units with 150 or 190 PS, and a 2.0-litre bi-turbo with 240 PS, paired with a DSG gearbox and 4MOTION four-wheel drive.

A plug-in hybrid GTE version of the all-new Passat, with a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine and electric motor will arrive later on, while a fuel-saving BlueMotion model with a 1.6-litre diesel engine achieving 78 mpg and 95 g/km of CO2 will be added to the range in June 2015.

An all-wheel-drive Alltrack version of the all-new Passat Estate will go on sale the following month.

There will be five all-new Passat trim levels: S, SE, SE Business, GT and R-Line.

All will offer Post-Collision Braking System and mis-fuelling prevention, while Front Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Crash system, Driver Profile Selection, Ergo Comfort seats and front and rear parking sensorsare fitted to SE models and above.

The SE Business model, aimed at business motorists, also gets sat-nav. Alcantara seats, three-zone climate control and eighteen-inch wheels will be standard on GT.
