THERE is a new addition to the new Porsche Cayenne range: the E-Hybrid.

The new Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that offers blistering performance and low CO2 emissions.

The E-Hybrid’s 3.0-litre 340hp V6 engine works in conjunction with a 100kW/136hp electric motor to generate a combined power output of 462hp.

Which is good enough for 0 to 62mph in 5.0 seconds and a maximum speed of 157mph.

In zero emission battery mode, Porsche says the new E-Hybrid has a range of up to 27 miles. Just using the battery it can zap to 83mph.

What’s more there’s a thumping 700Nm of torque available just above idling speed.

Claimed fuel consumption on the New European Drive Cycle (NEDC), ranges between 83.1-88.3 mpg depending on the tyre specification.

Meanwhile CO2 emissions for the new Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid are 72–78g/km (again depending on tyre chosen). This puts the Cayenne PHEV in either company car tax band 16% or company car tax band 19%.

Which for directors of SMEs makes the new Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid an attractive model as a company car.

Prices for the new Cayenne E-Hybrid are from £67,128. First customer deliveries will arrive in late May 2018.
