The new Nissan Note looks much better than the old car, and it’s incredibly practical.

Nissan Note
Entry level models leave out some of the good bits – go for the Acenta or Acenta Premium

What’s not?

  • The design and layout of the Nissan Note’s cabin are both good but the quality of materials could be better. The dash, for instance, is made of hard scratchy plastics.
  • Despite the diesel’s excellent efficiency, it can be a little bit rough and noisy under acceleration.
  • A Dynamic Styling Package is available, to make your Note look more sporty. However, it costs £800 and is only available on top-spec Tekna models.
  • Go for entry-level Visia models and you don’t get the adjustable boot floor, nor do you get the sliding rear bench. We recommend going for Acenta or Acenta Premium.

Nissan Note
All in all, this is a much more desirable car than the old model

Nissan Note
Rear passenger legroom is on a par with a Mondeo

Nissan has made the Note a whole lot more desirable than the old car.

It’s now more of a genuine contender with models like the Fiesta because of its new look and more engaging drive.

Simply put, though, the Fiesta is a lot more fun and feels higher quality while the Polo feels far more luxurious.

But the Note’s trumps lie in its incredible practicality and its great value for money. Granted, it’s not a lot cheaper than the Fiesta, but the Note does come with a whole lot more equipment as standard.
