Adam Chamberlain: new Mercedes sales director

THERE’S a new name on the door marked sales director at Mercedes-Benz: Adam Chamberlain.

Adam joins Mercedes-Benz from Fiat Group Autos UK where he was sales director.

The new Mercedes sales director appointment commences in mid-April when Adam takes up the post following the departure of Mike Whittington, who was promoted to managing director Mercedes-Benz Retail Group in January 2013.

“It’s a really exciting time for Adam to join Mercedes-Benz and be a significant part of our continued sales growth,” commented managing director Gary Savage to who Adam will report.

Mercedes is targeting increased sales and higher levels of support to existing customers. Last month, Mercedes was the number one premium brand in the UK sales charts, with registrations up 13.5 per cent compared to the same month in 2012.

Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz UK commented: ‘To be the Number One premium brand in the UK in February is a great achievement.

“Now we’ll be devoting even more energy to achieving it again, as this is a result we’ll be aiming to repeat as the year goes on. With exciting new models, including the CLA and New E-Class on the verge of arriving in the UK, we are in a fantastic position for the future.”

In addition to those two models, Mercedes launched its first compact performance model at the Geneva Motor Show, the A 45 AMG.
