Peter Mcdonald, up from Down Under to take over as SEAT’s Head of Fleet

AS the England cricket team plans a way to avoid an Ashes whitewash Down Under, one Aussie is leaving his planning routes behind him and establishing himself as Head of Fleet for SEAT UK.

Peter McDonald – who was born in Australia – moves to the role having been SEAT’s Head of Planning for four years.

After graduating from the University of Western Australia in 2001, Peter joined Volkswagen in the UK, working on the firm’s luxury car project, including the Phaeton and Touareg. After various roles at Volkswagen – including a spell as Head of Planning for Volkswagen China – Peter joined SEAT in 2009.

He joins at a good time for the SEAT brand, with 2013 seeing the successful launch of the highly-acclaimed Leon and Leon SC three-door. And the start of 2014 will herald the arrival of the all-new SEAT Leon ST – the first time the Golf rival has been offered as an estate car.

So it’s little wonder that Peter McDonald is relishing the new challenge, with the new Head of Fleet saying:

“The SEAT planning team that I’m leaving is an exceptional one, and I’ll certainly miss working in the department that I established four years ago, but this fleet role is a hugely exciting challenge for me.
