SMALL businesses can choose a low carbon daily rental car more readily thanks to the launch of the new Avis Eco Collection.

Not only will the car be low-emission – all Eco Collection cars feature sub-120g/km CO2 emission engines – but the fuel saving will be significant, too, since all cars are diesels.

The Eco Collection from daily car rental firm Avis will be available from 21 UK locations.

Nick Mountfield, head of marketing at Avis commented: “We have often been asked by our customers to guarantee the availability of low-emission vehicles. With the arrival of 250 Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDIs as our launch model for the Avis Eco Collection, we’ve ensured that our customers don’t have to compromise on the quality or comfort of their vehicle to benefit from an environmentally responsible journey.”

The drive to reduce CO2 emissions is part of the Avis Carbon Management Programme, which has been developed with The CarbonNeutral Company, a world leading carbon offset and carbon management company. Avis offers the option of carbon offsetting each daily rental car for £1 per rental.

At its UK offices, Avis has implemented a car sharing scheme with preferential parking spaces and video conferencing – the latter has reduced the requirement for European travel by 25%, says Avis.
