  • Latest petrol and diesel engines offer performance and economy
  • Line up will be completed in 2019 with a PHEV (Petrol-Electric) version
  • DS 7 Crossback priced from £28,050 to £50,000

WAY back in the mists of time (June 12 to be exact) we mentioned the exclusive DS 7 Crossback La Première being available to order. Five months on and now details of the rest of the new DS 7 Crossback range have now been revealed.

In case you missed it, the DS 7 Crossback is a premium SUV from Citroen’s luxury division aimed at the higher end of the market. A likely rival to the likes of Volvo, BMW, and Audi, the DS 7 is a comfortable, stylish, and well equipped SUV. With prices ranging from £28,050 to £50,000 it promises to fit right in amongst its’ peers.

The new DS 7 Crossback will initially be available in four trim levels and with four engine options. A combination to suit the vast majority of business users shouldn’t be too hard to find.

If you have a little patience – or you aren’t due to replace your company car for a while – you may want to hang on for the launch of the PHEV Hybrid E-Tense 4×4. This fifth version of the DS 7 Crossback will arrive in mid-2019. With 300bhp, a four-wheel-drive system, and around 35 mile electric driving range this will be the range-topping model.

If you can’t wait for the alternative fuel version you can choose from two petrol and two diesel engines.

Both the PureTech 180 and PureTech 225 petrol engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard with the manufacturer claiming fuel economy of around 48mpg. If you prefer a diesel you can either have the BlueHDi 130 with a manual gearbox, or BlueHDi 180 with an automatic. According to DS these will be capable of around 70mpg and 57mpg respectively.

In terms of trim levels you can select from Elegance, Performance Line, Prestige, and Ultra Prestige. The entry level Elegance features a generous specification level that includes –

  • DS 3D rear lights
  • Tinted and acoustic rear windscreen
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Rear parking sensors
  • LED front fog lights with cornering light function

Each subsequent jump up the trim level ladder adds more technology and a more luxurious interior finish.

The DS 7 Crossback interiors all take their styling cues from Parisian landmarks and boast names like
DS Inspiration Rivoli, DS Inspiration Opéra, and DS Inspiration Faubourg. Their design inspiration comes from the chic elegance of luxury boutiques and sophisticated Royal Palaces that line the streets of Paris. Essentially they are awash with fine materials and beautiful design details. Once you see one of these interiors it will all make sense – they are fabulous.

If you are interested in the new DS 7 Crossback you won’t have to wait too long. They will be on sale in one of the 30 brand new DS Stores from January 2018. Although you should also bear in mind the La Première version is still available until 31 December if you want the really exclusive touches.
