Audi has launched a business-focused A5 coupe model.

The car, costing £26,190, is fitted with an all-new 1.8 turbocharged direct petrol injection engine, called TFSI by Audi.

A Sport version, costing £27,140, is also available.

The new turbocharged engine is powerful – 170PS – but with 38.9mpg also economical. CO2 emissions are 169g/km – a 21% tax band rating for 2008/09.

The front-wheel drive model has a six-speed transmission.

It goes on sale from November.

Early next year an A5 with a 2.0-litre TDI engine will be launched.

The economical diesel has 51.3mpg fuel economy. And CO2 emissions of 144g/km – a 19% tax banding for 2008/09.
