Key MINI updates

  • MINI model range updated with enhanced cockpit instrument design
  • More precise fuel level display, and new control system for MINI Driving Modes and MINI Head-Up Display
  • Introduction of Apple CarPlay on MINI Countryman and MINI Clubman
  • Alertness assistant introduced on MINI 3-door Hatch, MINI 5-door Hatch and MINI Convertible

THE MINI range receives a summer upgrade with interior changes bringing enhanced instrument design, improved infotainment options, and a new control system for MINI Driving Modes and MINI Head-Up Display.

From July, all new MINI models will offer an updated cockpit instrument display with a new night design and a fuel level display that offers greater precision.

The steering column mounted instrument display will now light up white rather than orange for improved clarity at night. The same colour scheme will also apply to the head-up display. The new fuel gauge design offers a more precise display, making it easier to read fuel levels with greater accuracy.

Apple CarPlay an option

The Introduction of Apple CarPlay as an option on MINI Countryman and MINI Clubman will benefit iPhone users. Customers who choose the Media Pack XL or MINI Tech Pack will now benefit from CarPlay functionality providing a wireless connection to iPhone apps, including iMessage, Phone, Apple Music, and Apple Maps.

Apps will be mirrored on the 8.8-inch high resolution MINI central display, and controlled via the MINI Touch Controller or touchscreen itself.

MINI Driving Modes will also see minor modifications in all current MINI models. Changing between standard, SPORT, or GREEN Modes will now be controlled by a toggle switch underneath the air conditioning controls.

The Head-Up Display system will now be managed from a separate menu in the MINI operating system where drivers can set up individual profiles for the display, storing them in the vehicle key alongside profile settings for exterior mirrors and electric seat position.

Greater safety with Alertness Assistant

Drivers of the MINI 3-door Hatch, 5-door Hatch and Convertible will also enjoy enhanced safety with Alertness Assistant. Included with the optional MINI Visual Boost screen, MINI Navigation or MINI Navigation XL, the system monitors how the vehicle is driven.

Any changes in driving behaviour that could indicate a loss of concentration from the driver and the system will recommend a rest stop via the central display screen.
