AMG – the sporting arm of Mercedes – will be getting a lot more exposure if you’re in the market for a new business car.
Because you could be driving an AMG Mercedes C-Class as your next company car from the summer onwards.
Mercedes is updating its crucial C-Class executive saloon and estate range with added specification and improved running costs.
“We made 2000 changes to the car in 2011,” said Nick Andrews, head of fleet, Mercedes.
“We improved CO2 emissions on our core fleet model, but we’re not stopping there. We are making changes with the addition of new lines to the C-Class model line up.”
The new Mercedes C-Class 2012 Model Year range from the summer onwards will now be:
- SE becomes Executive SE
- Elegance becomes AMG Sport
- Sport becomes AMG Sport Plus
The upgrades mean the Executive SE now gets a sports grille, leather, uprated alloy wheels for just a £35 rise in its list price.
“We’ve taken the same approach on the other two models – adding more specification for a minimal uplift in price,” continued Nick.
“We want to make sure that every business car manager and company car driver knows that a Mercedes is an affordable proposition. We realise there is the perception out there that a Mercedes is not attainable. But it is.
“The changes we are introducing have given us an uplift of £600 in our residual values, which means that our whole life costs are much more competitive as a result.
Andrews added that the Mercedes C-Class Coupe would also receive specification upgrades and new model lines of AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus.
“The message from Mercedes-Benz is that we’re open for business,” continued Nick on this latest company car news.
“We want to make Mercedes much more accessible than we have before, whether you’re a business car buyer or a company car fleet manager.”
