Low cost InterRent brand plans expansion drive

InterRent logoTHE low cost InterRent car rental company, designed in 2013 to provide a budget offering to the main Europcar core brand, is planning further expansion.

The car rental company says it has been launched in over 27 countries on four continents, with 119 stations in main airports and train stations, and an average fleet of 4,800 vehicles in 2014.

InterRent’s goal is to be established in 40 countries by end 2015

The InterRent brand, with the motto “drive, save, enjoy”, says it wants to target leisure travellers who are looking for low cost but want the quality back up offered by a leading company like Europcar.

InterRent’s owner, Europcar, says the low-cost car rental market is growing and is expected to account for some 20% of Europe’s total car rental market.

Europcar Group plans to accelerate the brand’s expansion, which was already strong in 2014, with the goal of having InterRent stations in 40 countries by the end of 2015.

The company will be managed from Madrid by Europcar Spain’s Managing Director José María González and a dedicated InterRent team.

Spain was one of the first countries to launch InterRent since when it has become the brand’s most established market.
