Story: RALPH MORTON
IT’S been a fairly badly kept secret in the industry, but James Douglas has been appointed as Audi’s new head of fleet.
James, who joins from Nissan where he was corporate sales director, takes over the role vacated by Iain Carmichael, who left the Audi head of fleet role in May.
Initially, Audi chose not to replace Carmichael directly, and appointed Paul Sansom to become head of both fleet and retail sales – a first in the Audi organisation as part of an efficiency streamlining programme.
However, Audi believes it still needs a head of fleet sales, and James it has decided is the man. James will report into Paul Sansom, head of sales, Audi.
We want to become the leading premium brand in the UK
The appointment of James Douglas to head of fleet sales is one of a raft of changes at the premium manufacturer designed to enhance the customer experience, says Audi.
Head of Aftersales and Service has been split into two roles: Head of Service and Parts Operations (headed up by John Bower, previously Head of Aftersales at Skoda) and Head of Customer Quality and Network Development (Jason Cranswick, formerly SEAT’s National Franchise Manager).
