Jaguar has confirmed leaked images of its new F-Type sports car on a social media site.

The full range of pictures and technical data will be given on the eve of the Paris show next week and the wraps come off the convertible and coupe next Thursday morning.

But Jaguar has since confirmed that the picture on a social networking site is genuine.

The F-type will be offered with a choice of supercharged engines: a 3.0-litre V6, with outputs of 335bhp and 375bhp, or a 5.0-litre V8 which will be made in the Ford Bridgend Engine Plant.

The car is due on sale in spring 2013, with prices expected to start from around £55,000.
