THE Honda CR-V at last gets the tax-efficient engine it deserves.
Unveiled at the Geneva Show today (05 March) is the Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC diesel, with CO2 emissions of 119g/km says Honda.
Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC
Engine size 1596cc
Power 120PS
Torque 300Nm @2000rpm
CO2 emissions 119g/km
Annual road tax £30
This gives the Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC an HMRC company car tax band of 17% for the 2013/14 tax year.
It will also provide the Honda CR-V with competitive fuel consumption figures, although Honda has yet to confirm what these are, but expect them to be rather better than the 48.7mpg figures of the 2.2 diesel CR-V and closer to 60mpg.
The 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine – one of Honda’s new low emission and tax efficient Earth Dreams Technology engines – will be available in a two-wheel drive version of the CR-V with manual transmission.
Although the engine is only 1.6 litres, it will have plenty of get up and go: there’s 120PS power, but more importantly 300Nm torque, giving it great low-down drivability.
Otherwise, it’s standard and highly usable Honda CR-V attributes – including outstanding reliability, easy fold down rear seats thanks to a pull of a handle and Honda’s ECON driving mode which helps to improve fuel consumption further.
The company car tax efficient Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC will be built in Swindon; annual road tax is £30; it will go on sale in the autumn.
