ENGLAND manager, Roy Hodgson, is now at the wheel of a brand new Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer, thanks to a partnership between the Luton-based carmaker and the English Football Association.
Not any Vauxhall Insignia, either.
Hodgson’s Vauxhall Insignia is powered by the flagship 2.0 CDTI BiTurbo diesel, which packs 195PS (192bhp) and is the most powerful diesel engine in the range.
Fitted with Vauxhall’s automatic gearbox, it delivers 47.1mpg and emits 158g/km of CO2.
However, company car drivers will be more interested in the 130PS Insignia ecoFLEX diesel.
This bumps economy to 62.8mpg and reduces emissions to just 119g/km.
Good enough for a company car tax band of 17%: company car drivers pay just £62 a month in benefit in kind company car tax (at the 20% marginal rate).
And with Tech Line specification company car drivers get a full suite of business equipment:
- Navi 600 satellite navigation with 7-inch colour monitor
- 17-inch alloy wheels
- Mobile phone system with Bluetooth
- USB connection and aux-in socket
- Cruise control
Prices for the Insignia Hatchback start at £18,040, while the Sports Tourer estate kicks off at £20,065. Hodgson’s Insignia, in Elite trim, retails at £33,325.
Hodgson commented: “I am delighted to be driving a Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer.
“Vauxhall is the outstanding lead partner of the England Team and I am personally grateful for the support they have given to me since becoming England manager.”
Vauxhall’s managing director, Duncan Aldred, told Business Car Manager: “Two years into our partnership with The FA and the relationship continues to go from strength to strength.
“We are looking forward to 2013 and playing our part in the Road to Brazil campaign.”
