The Volkswagen Golf has been named Car of the Year by the Association of Car Fleet Operators (ACFO).
ACFO members said it delivered the best combination of operational performance, whole-life cost control and driver appeal.
ACFO chairman Julie Jenner commented: “The recognition of the Golf is a clear indication that fleets are continuing to downsize to more fuel efficient, CO2-friendly models, which are still able to undertake the wide range of tasks expected of company cars.”
The Ford Transit Connect won the Fleet Light Van of the Year; and the Ford Transit the Fleet Panel Van of the Year.
ACFO represents the interests of businesses which operate cars and vans as part of their commercial activities. There are more than 900 members responsible for 700,000 vehicles in the UK fleet market.
