Members of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) can now benefit from free fixed price fuel cards and preferential prices on diesel.

The Fuelcard Company, one of the UK’s largest commercial fuel card resellers, has joined forces with the FSB to provide the member benefit.

The newly created FSB Fuel Card scheme promises reduced administration and keen prices. The 200,000 FSB members will have a choice of eight different fuel card products. These include Keyfuels, Texaco, Shell and Esso.

The scheme also offers members a consolidated HMRC approved VAT invoice. This is supplied for every fuel purchase to ensure 100% VAT reclaims on business fuel expenses.

There’s also a free online management service. The facility gives cardholders 24/7 access to their fuel card account for complete control of fuel usage and costs.

All transactions can be monitored, with restrictions on certain purchase options. To prevent unauthorised use, they can be allocated to either a named driver, or a specific vehicle.

The partnership was forged after the FSB wanted to expand its existing Keyfuels fuel card offering for its members. The Fuelcard Company was able to combine the Keyfuels offering with seven additional products in order to guarantee members would get the right product at the best price possible for their business.

FSB chairman of member services, Sandy Harris, said: “We sought a partnership with a provider that had the critical mass, expertise and clout to deliver solid benefits at a time when cost savings and streamlined administration have never been more important to the small business sector.”

“The FSB Fuel Card scheme can highlight the right fuel card network for any small concern, reducing headaches and making fuelling both simple and economical,” added Lee Atkinson, programme manager, The Fuelcard Company.
