  • Limited edition Ford GT celebrates 1967 Le Mans win
  • Exclusive red and white livery replicates 1967 race car
  • Heritage edition features unique interior colours, materials, and details

IN celebration of the 1967 Le Mans triumph Ford has announced a Heritage Edition of the fabulous 200mph GT supercar.

Available as a limited edition this themed Ford GT Heritage edition will feature unique interior and exterior colour themes and exclusive wheels.

The ‘67 Heritage edition is finished in Race Red with white stripes and carbon trim. The Frozen White No.1 bonnet and door decals add a racing twist to complement the 20-inch satin aluminium wheels. The Heritage edition also includes red brake callipers to match the exterior colour.

The interior of the Ford GT Heritage edition also features some exclusive design touches with red accent stitching on the carbon fibre seats and steering wheel. The seat belts are also finished in red and the instrument panel and door bezels have an exclusive dark satin finish.

Each example of the Ford GT Heritage edition will also have a unique serialised identification plate and matte carbon fibre door sills and centre console.

Under the limited edition touches the Ford GT Heritage edition carries the same mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 engine producing around 600bhp. A seven-speed, dual clutch transmission gets the power from the engine to the massive rear wheels allowing the GT to hit a horizon-bending 216mph.

Given the standard Ford GT carries a hefty six-figure price tag this obviously isn’t a car that is going to be an option for the average company car driver. The standard car costs somewhere north of £300k and it’s likely the Heritage edition will carry a premium on top.

Don’t be downhearted though. If you are the owner of successful SME and you already know the benefits of leasing then this could be a brilliant way to treat yourself for all your hard work. If you are tempted we suggest you move quickly though. Ford only produce around 200 examples of the standard GT per year so when we say this is a limited edition we really mean it.

If you do miss out don’t worry. The Ford GT40 won Le Mans four times on the trot from 1966 to 1969. We’ve already had the ‘66 tribute and now the ‘67 version. If you don’t make the list this time with a bit of luck there will be two more special editions of the Ford GT to come in 2018 and 2019.
