Michael Landreth will be driving a different sort of van for the next three years.
His design for a van livery that embodied the Olympic ideal was voted the winner in a competition organised by his company Whitefield Distribution.
Operating from three depots in in Newcastle, Kent and Heywood, the family run parcel distribution service company decided it would be a good idea to have a competition among its 50 employees.
Michael’s van livery was judged the best thanks to its national colours, the inclusion of the British flag and a patriotic slogan ‘Supporting Our Nation’. The judging team thought it caught mood of the nation just right.
Micahel, who works from the Newscastle depot, will drive his limited edition vehicle for the next three years, while Whitefield Distribution will also be producing two more liveried vehicles for its small fleet with the same design to run out of their Heywood and Kent depots.
Dayne Smith, director of Whitefield Distribution, said: “As a family business we strongly believe in keeping our workforce happy and making them feeling a part of the company so we thought what better way than to run a competition for our employees to create a vehicle design to commemorate this wonderful sporting year. ”
Whitefield Distribution’s company vans are supplied by Northgate Vehicle Hire, who took part in the judging process.
