VEHICLE management solutions company FleetEurope is celebrating 25 years of providing services to businesses throughout the UK.

The Buckinghamshire-based business was launched in 1994 by current chairman and CEO John Yarroll with a small team of fleet experts offering leasing and fleet management services to SMEs initially.

Their mission was to help customers reduce the costs, risks and complexities involved in keeping their workforce mobile.

Twelve months later, the vehicle rental division was introduced, following an increased demand from customers for daily rental services.

The new rental management service formed part of FleetEurope’s one-stop shop offering for fleet and corporate travel managers, and now accounts for the majority of its annual turnover.

FleetEurope’s first major blue-chip customer signing was a high-end retail chain in 1996. It chose FleetEurope following a tendering exercise for the provision of rental management services and has remained a loyal customer for 23 years.

Following this early success, FleetEurope continued to win numerous vehicle rental and fleet management contracts, which now equate to over 880 customer accounts ranging from SME’s to global FTSE 100 companies.

The current executive board, headed by John Yarroll includes Nicki Montero, chief financial and administration officer, who’s been with the business since 1994, chief commercial officer Carlos Montero, who joined in 2008, and chief operating officer, Joe Howick.

With over 23 years’ fleet industry experience, including several mergers and acquisitions, Howick was appointed by the board in March 2016 to raise FleetEurope’s profile and accelerate the growth of the company.

He implemented an ambitious growth strategy that has resulted in over 500 new customer accounts, recruitment of key industry talent, systems development, marketing initiatives, multiple award wins, strengthening of supplier relationships and the development of innovative new services to provide additional value to customers.

Howick said: “We’re delighted to have reached our quarter century milestone at a time when FleetEurope is achieving record levels of growth. We’ve won some major accounts over recent years and the business remains on track to reach its target of more than doubling its annual revenue by the end of 2019.

“Crucial to our success has been the adoption of a service-led culture from the outset, which is driven from the top at board level, right throughout the business. We continue to invest in great people, industry-leading systems and service innovation to help us build strong relationships with our customers and exceed their expectations.”
